The Youth were involved by leading us in worship. The children age 4 to 11 had their own prayer time with very interesting ideas to engage them. (See next paragraph.) My children really enjoyed it. They said it was fun and they prayed in very imaginative ways. I took a few pictures and a video of the children praying. The whole event was led by God's Spirit. Everyone was enthusiatic when I asked what they thought. I don't remember seeing anyone new exept those who are from the different churches that we are affiliated with. We had communion and anointing for the sick and the Lord was giving those who came up a word of encouragement by the intessesors including my husband and me. The worship team was leading us and we could sense the Lord leading them as they led us. In fact some of the songs were being coordinated with the prayers of people for their native lands. The people were sincerely crying out to God, because their prayers were very emotional and heartfelt. We had extra people praying that were not expected, but I felt this is the Lord getting them fired up about prayer and expecting God to answer the desire of their hearts. It lasted three hours and people hung around that long. I was a bit worried that people wouldn't stay to the end but I said to the Lord, I don't want to worry about this; if they all leave, I am staying Lord. After that I just continued to worship and we ended with the hymn "He reigns."

Children were invited to a children's prayer time where they visited seven prayer stations focusing on the needs of children around the world. The stations were: Poverty, Orphans, Education, Sick/Injured, Needing Jesus, Families and Personal Prayer. Children prayed in small groups led by a teen/adult leader from either East Gate, Ottawa Mandarin or Filipino Community Church, already the nations were gathered! It was a blessing to listen to the prayers of these children as they prayed for children around the world. They were encouraged to listen to what the Holy Spirit placed on their heart to pray about as they learned about the needs at each station. What I witnessed were children whose hearts were truly sensitive to the needs, who prayed with belief that their prayers were heard and who were anxious to engage in praying. How must it touch the Father's heart to hear his young ones pray. One of the leaders said, "I never heard the kids pray so much before. I am so happy that they are all willing to kneel down to pray." Praying with the children during the Global Day of Prayer was an awesome experience!

Our prayer gathering on the GDoP was a great success. Although we did not have a large crowd there were fifty to sixty very sincere worshiping and praying people there. It was great to see dozens of people praying for their home country from around the world. It is moving to see the passion people have for their homeland. One of the things I felt tied the evening together very effectively was a worship team that lead us in worship at various intervals during the evening. Our host/chairperson Nahia Haddad did a lot of planning ahead of time to make this event very memorable.
Sincerely, Bill
Rev. Bill Buitenwerf, Senior Pastor

Our experience with GDOP is that it reminds us of so many problems that are happening around the world that we usually see as news items, but through our prayers we identify with people's pain and misfortunes and it is a wonderful feeling to intercede for all the people that need a miracle in their life. It is a great experience, God willing we will participe again next time.

Ottawa Mandarin Church started to participate GDOP in 2010. We hosted one day of the ten days of prayer, and some joined the May 23 prayer gathering at East Gate. GDOP is pretty new to most OMAC members; next year, we pray God will move more people to be involved. Personally, I was really blessed by participating in GDOP as the OMAC coordinator. From planning meetings to the ten days of prayer to the final day of prayer meeting, I learned real-time praying in all circumstances. I also learned to pray for a specific place when we were moving around the church and praying for specific spots. On May 23th, I fasted a whole day but wasn't weak at all. Instead I experienced what's called filled with the Holy Spirit but not filled with food. I was inspired to think about a monthly joint prayer meeting in ICAC. ICAC should become the house of prayer for all nations.

We had a small but very meaningful service. The Prayer for the World was led by members of the congregation and international pastors from the area. Next year we hope to build on this.

Six men had volunteered for the Alpha Course this afternoon - healing session.
What they got was a bonus; Global Day of Prayer - setting the scene with the Blow the Trumpet video. We extended the initial period of worship by interspersing the prayer for the World between three songs. The fact that they in this concrete and barred room in the innards of a prison were engaging in a prayer meeting that millions of others were also taking part with a common purpose was liberating and thrilling for them They took it as a privilege and an act of joy. For us four volunteers, it was also special as we allowed them a taste of the outside world where the priority was others rather than them.

Here at City Church we had approximately a hundred people with the local Vanier pastors coming out with their community members. We also had Adel Catoy from the 'Jesus is Lord' Church coming with a good number from the Philipine communty. Pastor Risan from Eastview Baptist is from Brazil and was able to prayer for us in Portuguese. This was his first experience of GDOP and he was very excited and moved by the whole thing. We also had for the first time ever prayers from Inuit representatives who prayed in Inuktituuk. It was awesome! Some of the other languages prayed in were: Bulgarian, Croatian, Pilipino as well as English and French ofcourse. The night moved smoothly with only minor hitches regarding dvd's but nothing that took from the night. Infact, the night really was another step in cementing the bonds between the Vanier churches. Also pastors were able to network by meeting other gifted Christians and earmark people for projects coming up; that is the unifying work of the Holy Spirit - Praise God! Also we had Ron and Judy, two pillars of the GDOP team whose presence and prayer always add weight and support to the event. I personally was delighted with the turnout and heart felt prayer and worship that people entered into. Thanks Tony for all the PR and networking, and to Fred for his continued strength in leadership, and indeed to all the GDOP team.

The GDOP was celebrated immedediately following the regular service, securing a captive congregation! With the added incentive of the message being given my the Zambian ambassador, we had a full house. The service was built around the Prayer for the World, and we prayed for many nations by name during the morning.

Praise God that we were able to gather at National House of Prayer in Ottawa. Rob and I with two other ladies were in attendance. Other people showed up late when we had finished the venue. We could feel a strong presence of the Holy Spirit poured on us as we were all in one accord in the upper room praying. We prayed for the world as well as for Canada, the country which God has called all of us to minister to His people. A special prayer was dedicated to the men and women in power; as well as to the men and women in uniform serving here and overseas. In coming days, I will forward to you some pictures which were taken on the occasion. All praise and honnour go to the Lord. The best of Him is yet to come. Amen!

We were very late coming to this, only registering on the website the day before. We had seen a presentation at the International Pastors and Leaders Forum some time before. We based our service around the well known Chronicles quote: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

This gathering included Fred Milnes, Lois Schriel and Tony Copple from the GDOP Ottawa committee, and of course Pastor Mike Miedema who has become a de facto member during the planning for this event. Tony was M/C and Fred was a prominent prayer warrior. We had a list of blessings and challenges to work with that the church had generated during the 10 days of prayer and we worked through these, interspersed with the sections of the Prayer for the World, and praise songs from the excellent KCCRC worship team. After a partially successful attempt at spotaneous simultaneous prayer for the chosen subjects, we reverted to a roving mic, and any from the 40 in attendance who wished to had the opportunity for voicing their prayer. Two prayer sections were conducted in French by Pastor Koffi Sampson but he was probably the only non-fluent-in English person present. At the end of the evening Tony asked how people had heard of the GDOP, and it turned out that the effect of our CHRI paid spots and announcements, and CKCU radio broadcasting, was negligible, at least in this venue. Laurie-Ann Copple had been on 93.1 FM from 7 am to 9 am that morning playing GDOP soundtracts. Just about everyone had come because Pastor Mike had promoted it in Kanata Community Christian Reformed Church. In summary: one more glorious GDOP event thoroughly appreciated by all those who came out.

Sue writes: I am so grateful for GDOP and this wonderful move of God across the world. The men carried the cross through the main streets of Carleton Place, Smiths Falls and Perth. We followed praising the Lord, praying and asking Him to inhabit the towns. Three people received salvation in Smiths Falls on our way to the church. We gathered to praise the Lord and pray in one accord in the three towns. The presence of God was so strong and many people were praying in the spirit and prophesying. We are all convinced God has done a mighty work in the heavenly atmosphere of Lanark County. I will forward pictures when the pastor sends them to me.

Additional coments or experiences at the events welcomed.
