10:00 am - noon 11 June, 10th Day of Prayer
Yes Eastgate Alliance is planning a GDOP event on Sunday June 12 at 10:30 to 12:30.
We also having the 10 days of prayer prior to it.
The theme is Praying for power in the upper room.
The Global day of prayer at Eastgate Christian Missionary Alliance Church went very well. We started with a ten day upper room prayer leading up to Pentacost Sunday, we prayed for God to empower us with the power from on high and every meeting the Lord was faithful to meet us and pour out his love in us. The Lord gave me a word for the Church that they needed to repent and go back to the things they did at first. Also, while I was seeking the Lord regarding these meetings, He told me to call them back to their first love. Call the whole Church, Jesus is waiting to meet with you his beloved, come back to that place of intimacy with the Lord.
Pentecost started with the worship team leading us in anointed singing with hymns and contemparary music. We read psalm 24 and the worship team led us in a song called (Give us cleans hands by Kutless) The Holy Spirit was leading and at times we had to change the order of the service to be in step with the Spirit. It was awesome to have the children lead us in the song Jesus loves the little children (A little child shall lead them in Isaiah inspired us to allow the children to sing and pray first. Then we had a inspiring message from Pastor Bill Buitenwerf. Followed by a testimony by a Youth (Peter Sabiri) and interviewing of 3 short term missionaries. We prayed for the nations starting with Israel and the Middle East and other nations. Also, we prayed for Canada and our government and we ended by inviting the Lord Jesus to come and indwell our homes, city and communities and to empower us to go out in his name to share the gospel with everyone praying in the language of their choice like at Pentecost. After that we had a BBQ and fellowship. We also announced about the 90 Days of blessing following the these meetings.

We will be incorporating the Prayer for the World in our service this coming Sunday morning.
The regular Sunday service was augmented with the key elements of the Global Day of Prayer, with the Prayer for the World replacing the
regular Prayers of the People. All joined in reciting the prayers, led by Sydney Swanson. In the run up to communion, the regular prayer of
confession was replaced by the GDOP version. There was a small but significant God-incidence. The praise song "No, Not by Might, nor even Power" (Robin Mark), had
been selected as the hymn during communion. As the worship leader, I brought my copy of Graham Power's book, Not by Might, Nor by Power, and placed it on the keyboard, and
told the congregation how happy I was that it had been selected on this day for this service, even though our minister Karen Bergenstein who chose the song was unaware of the book.

Six men (the maximum allowed) had volunteered for the Alpha Course this afternoon, and we had four volunteers: Dave, Rob, Laurie-Ann and Tony.
What they got was a bonus; Global Day of Prayer - setting the scene with the Blow the Trumpet video.
We interspersed the segments of the Prayer for the World, read by most of them. in turn, into material from the 2010 GDOP Ottawa video, including
the Olmos Prison, Argentina story, which they really related to. We ended with a time of prayer where all could contribute. In this Worship centre inside a Canadian jail, they felt
connected with the millions of pray-ers worldwide. The passion and fervour of worship, particularly by childen on the video
made a deep impression, reminding us that what we call worship in comfortable Canada is a pale reflection of what it should be.

The MET will be utilizing the “Prayer for the World” in our morning services this Sunday.
9:00 AM, 10:50 AM, 11:00 AM
It was a great joy to be able to lead our congregation in the “Prayer for the World” on Sunday. We had over 2000 people in our church participate by standing as I introduced the initiative that was bringing millions of believers together that day. The prayer and response portions were so well written, and it was a very powerful time in God’s presence. I have received wonderful feedback from many congregants who expressed how meaningful that time was.
Blessings,

At CR we focused on the theme of Pentecost this past Sunday. As part of that focus I read the prophecy in Joel about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh and then we prayed the prayer that the GDOP designated for that day. Thanks to the GDOP team in Ottawa for helping our church join churches around the world to “lift our voices together” in praise to God for all He has done for us and promises to do through us by His Spirit. It stirred me to believe for “these things and greater” and I trust it did the same for our people.
